Rosamond van der Linde is announcing her second book, called The Land of No Laws; The Saga of a Small Caribbean Island.
Her first book, was a memoir called A Piano in Every Room, the true story of 7 pianists living in a 42-room house with 34 pianos.
She is the Founder of Summer Sonatina International Piano Camp, the Sonatas and the Sonatina School of Music in the state of Vermont. She has created the Sonatina International Institute of Music on the Caribbean Island of St. Eustatius in the Dutch Caribbean called Statia Plantation Piano Vacation.
She received her B.A. in Music in 1958 at Bennington College. Studied piano with Lionel Nowak, well known pianist and composer. She studied theory and composition with Louis Calabro, also a well-known composer.
Rosamond established piano programs at Southern Vermont College and the Community College of Vermont. She was named a Fellow of the Academy of Arts and Sciences for outstanding contributions to the cultural resources of the state. In 2016 she won the Walloomsac Award with her daughter, Polly who now runs the Sonatina Piano Camps.
Rosamond van der Linde teaches classes and gives private lessons in The Villages, FL, MA, VT and in the Dutch Caribbean. She travels the world giving master classes, lectures and demonstrations and lessons in piano and composition.
Rosamond is actively sought after as a featured speaker by civic organizations, libraries and community groups. She has appeared more than twice at various venues. She is entertaining, motivating and well spoken.
